# Installation

Once purchased, the Curves for Final Cut plugin comes with lifetime updates from the App Store. No subscription costs, no in-app purchases, and no upgrade fees.

Opening the Curves app installs the Curves effect template and registers it as a plugin. If all went well, you will see a green light next to the word "Installed".

If you see an error or a "Problem Detected" message, see troubleshooting.

Once the plugin is installed, you can quit the Curves app. You won't need to open it again (but don't delete it, as the app is still needed for the plugin to run in Final Cut).

Restarting Final Cut allows it to detect the Curves plugin.

Curves will now appear as an effect inside of Final Cut Pro.
